Elton Carp Lakes has now been established for seven years
TOP LAKE
This has two islands and the banks have mature trees around so the lake isnt an ugly "pit." The lake has 16 pegs and there is some disabled access.
The orginal stock of carp have spawned frequently and consequently there is a wide range of carp of all sizes, some of the orginals are now over 20lb
THE BEST FISH FOR 2005 WAS 19.5LB!
Two years ago we stocked 5000 small fish including 1000 ghost carp,100 barbel and 100 tench.
The barbel are caught quite frequently and are quite happy as there is a constant flow of fresh water into the lake.
The best barbel of 2005 was 4.5lb and the best tench caught only last week was around 2lb.
Many of the ghost carp are averaging 1.5lb now with some of the older ghost carp being 5-6lb.
The fish are all in fine condition and even the small carp are hard fighting.

WHATS NEW?
We have a new match lake NOW FINISHED AND OPEN that will provide up to 70 pegs and will allow us to run large matches or several smaller ones! The lake is a horseshoe shape with an island along the centre allowing for everyone to have a feature to fish to.

We have now stocked 9000 carp from a few ounces up to 3lb and they are superb fish from Sport and Leisure fisheries (see photos). We are still looking for silver fish!
There will be a large carpark toilet facilities and there are plans for a cafe and bait/tackle shop in the pipeline.
